With nearly 30 years of experience in education, Maya Woods-Cadiz is a dedicated educator known for her commitment to excellence and transformative leadership. She holds a Bachelor's degree from Cal State East Bay and a Master's degree in urban leadership from UC Berkeley. Maya pursued doctoral studies in Transformative Leadership Management and obtained a leadership certification from Harvard University. Additionally, she completed a Leadership certificate program at Duke University and earned the ACSA Superintendent Certification.
Maya Woods-Cadiz has made significant contributions to the Oakland Unified School District for almost two decades. She served as superintendent for 10 years at AIMS K12 College Prep Charter School. Her leadership has driven positive change and fostered academic success within the school community.
Beyond her professional achievements, Maya Woods-Cadiz is a devoted mother of two and actively engages in various leadership roles outside her educational career. She serves as a board member for CASA (California Association of African-American Superintendents and Administrators) and as a county representative for CCSA (California Charter Schools Association). Her dedication to advocating for quality education and equity in the education system has positioned her as a change-maker in the CCSA Charter Nation podcast, where her insights and expertise are valued.
