About me
Kimberly Moore, EdD, is a high school principal in Northern California, where she began her career in education as a science teacher. As a classroom teacher, she was introduced to professional learning communities (PLC), and she knew it was the only way to improve teaching and learning for ALL students. She sought opportunities for leadership on her campus, including the science division leader and the school intervention coordinator. As an intervention coordinator, she helped implement a schedule that included Tier 2 intervention during the school day. Her experiences as a teacher leader formed her belief in the power of shared leadership to improve teaching and learning.
After 13 years in the classroom, Dr. Moore transitioned to administration, serving as assistant principal on her school site. She is currently the site principal at Vista del Lago High School in Folsom, California, where she continues to lead her team on their journey of continuous improvement. Beyond her leadership at the site level, she has presented numerous times on her school's journey to develop response to intervention (RTI) and a Tier 2 intervention system at the secondary level. Under her leadership, Vista del Lago obtained Model PLC at Work® status in the spring of 2023.
Dr. Moore earned her bachelor’s degree in biological science and her master’s degree in curriculum and instruction from CSU, Sacramento. Additionally, she earned her National Board Teaching Certification in 2008 and her doctorate in educational leadership in 2022.
